Bright Spot Brief: Pedagogy of Early Learning
Across the country, states, districts, schools, and programs are rethinking teaching and learning in ways that better reflect how young children learn and develop. These efforts offer important lessons for advancing high-quality learning experiences across the preschool through Grade 3 (PK–3) continuum.
This State of the Field Bright Spot Brief highlights community-led innovations and promising approaches that bring the Pedagogy of Early Learning to life. Drawing from three communities working to advance one or more tenets of early learning pedagogy, the brief showcases how educators, leaders, and communities are aligning learning environments, instructional practices, and systems with the science of learning and development.
Designed for state and local education leaders, practitioners, and parent and families, the brief offers practical insights, lessons learned, and considerations for strengthening policy, practice, and systems to support developmentally informed teaching and learning across PK–3.
